Partners take turns speaking, listening, summarizing, and validating each other.

Gentle Start-Up
Practice the Gottman approach: "I feel… about… and I need…" to communicate without criticism or blame.
10:25 – 10:40
CBT Thought Check
Identify assumptions and replace negative interpretations with more balanced thoughts.
10:40 – 10:50
Repair and Reconnection
Practice phrases that reduce tension, pause conflict, and restore connection.
10:50 – 11:00
Appreciation and Communication Goal
Share one appreciation and choose one communication skill to practice after the retreat.
